Financial Planner for Boutique Financial Planning Firm

Your Greatest Contribution (YGC) is a virtual, fee-only boutique financial planning firm serving clients across the country. We are hiring a Financial Planner and/or an Associate Financial Planner, depending on experience, who possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results. We believe if you bring your true self, you are bringing your best self.

About YGC:

Financial planning is personal. Our clients are in various life stages and count on us to be there for them as they’re going through some pretty big, and often emotional, decisions. We are a partner in their financial journey.


About You & Vital to Your Role:

  • Ability to manage yourself and your own schedule, as well as communicate remotely via messaging, video calls, and emails throughout the day. We are a virtual firm; transparent, internal communication is vital.
  • Familiar with onboarding and supporting custodial accounts with TD Ameritrade
  • Comfortable with being client-facing
  • Proactive in expecting the next step for client needs and solutions-oriented  
  • Excellent communicator
  • Enjoy wearing multiple hats and have a track record as an intrapreneur
  • A love of technology and vision for how it can enhance the client experience. Sampling of our tech stack: eMoney, GSuite, Wealthbox, Zoom, iRebal, PreciseFP, Kwanti, Slack.
  • Willing to attend semi-annual in-person meetings in NYC or DC Metro area for business planning and process development
  • Hold the CFP® designation or Series 65 or have the desire to pursue the CFP® designation and obtain the Series 65 within 6 months of starting.


What You’ll Be Doing Now:

  • Working with two lead financial advisors between 10 - 15 hours per week; flexible with increasing hours as responsibility increases.
  • Preparing for and attending client meetings; taking notes being responsible for all follow-up.
  • Handling new client onboarding, including conducting onboarding calls
  • Creating and delivering financial plans, including cash flow modeling, spending/savings recommendations, debt paydown, credit report analysis, what-if scenarios, insurance needs, investment recommendations, estate planning, tax planning, etc.
  • Building and maintaining client portals, financial plans and action steps/tasks
  • Promptly answering all clients questions via email
  • Researching complex financial situations
  • Handling all financial advocate calls, which include calling student loan servicers, investment companies, accountants, estate attorneys, insurance agents, etc.


What We Are Offering:

  • Part-time roles with the opportunity to grow full-time
  • The starting compensation for the Associate Financial Planner role is between $12,000-$15,000, depending on experience with the possibility of an annual bonus, depending on how the company does as a whole.
  • The starting compensation for the Financial Planner role is between $15,000-$20,000, depending on experience with the possibility of an annual bonus, depending on how the company does as a whole.
  • Ideal start date: End of June 2019


Who Isn’t A Good Fit:

  • This is a young, growing company. If you need a lot of external motivation and strict systems, this is not the place for you.
  • If you don’t enjoy a combination of team and independent work settings, this is not the right fit.
  • We are engaged in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work.  It important to us and many of our clients. If that’s not a plus for you, you’d probably be happier in a more conventional firm.
